Volunteering with HCC—Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
We have partnered with Aramark and NRG Stadium to raise funds for our non-profit. As a part of this initiative, HCC volunteers will work a concession stand as a team at NRG Stadium events. A portion of the concession stand’s profits will go back to our organization.
1. Why does HCC need volunteers? And what does volunteering entail?
Nonprofits require money to operate, just as any other business does. Nonprofit organizations must have a reliable income to cover costs related to office space, equipment, and community events.
Volunteer work is hard, but rewarding work. This means you may need to get up early, work hard, and stay late, much like a paid employee. This includes showing up on time, dressed appropriately, and ready for work.
The benefits of volunteering include:
- A chance to network with like-minded people
- A chance to gain experience working with a community and helping them achieve their goals
- A chance to network with like-minded people, learn more about the industry, and build your resume with valuable experience that might otherwise cost you a lot of money out of pocket.
2. Can I bring my kid with me to volunteer?
Volunteers 21 and under will be assigned to Retail at NRG Volunteer Events.. 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟔 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝. You will be with your child in a Retail section selling texans merchandise.
In concessions, you will be with the HCC group manning our own Concession stand, serving food, drinks, and beer.
At other volunteer events we do in the community, if kids are able to volunteer it will be noted.
3. Do I need to be TABC certified to help at NRG?
If you plan to volunteer with us at NRG, you’ll get to volunteer together with our group that is TABC certified.
If you don't have TABC, there is an option to still volunteer for us at NRG, but you will not be in the same location as us. (It's much more fun to do it together as a group.)
4. Is there any way I get TABC Certified online? Is there a fee associated?
You can get your TABC Certification online FOR FREE below.

At non NRG volunteer events in the community comfortable casual is recommended.
